(vacances dans le Jura) En voiture, je demande à m'arrêter en pleine campagne pour capter ce tableau : deux arbres isolés dans ce vide tout en herbe d'un vert vif. Leurs silhouettes se dessinent comme à l'encre noir sur ce ciel gris menaçant. Ils semblent solidaires face à cette atmosphère à la fois belle, harmonieuse, et menaçante. Une peinture symbolique dans la forme et le fond, d'un écho profond pour moi alors. En voiture, vaisseau de guerre ou refuge doux dans la tourmente...

(Holiday in Jura) In the car, I asked to stop in the countryside to capture this painting: two trees isolated in this void all in bright green grass. Their silhouettes stand out as in black ink against this threatening gray sky. They seem united in the face of this atmosphere that is at the same time beautiful, harmonious, and also disturbing. A symbolic picture in its form and content, with a deep echo for me at the time. By car, warship or gentle refuge in tempest...
